While construction or choosing a place for bedroom, following things should be kept in mind.

Northeast – representing Ishwar grants us wisdom, divinity and relieves us from sufferings. Master Bedroom in this section should be avoided.

Southeast – representing Agni, the God of fire grants energy vigor and beautiful personality. Children rooms and rooms specifically for any one should be avoided as it leads to anger, stress.

Southwest – representing Niruti (demon) grants purity, cleanliness and eradicates fear of enemies. This is direction in which the room of head of the house should be located.

Northwest – representing Vayu, the God of wind and the basis of life grants health, strength and long-life. This direction is suitable for marriageable girls for early marriage and guests.

Head should be in the South while sleeping. Child's preferably have head in the East direction while sleeping to increase positive energy.
Beams should not be above the position of bed since they enhance negative energy.
Looking mirror should be positioned such that they are not at the foot of bed or on opposite side of the entry door.
Safe – In order to bring in prosperity to cash and valuables it should be stored in South-west corner.

The Master bedroom should always be located in the Southwest part of the house as Southwest represents the element earth which implies the heaviness, which makes it as the ideal place for the head of the house.
Bedroom has great significance in our life, we spend almost one third of the life in our bedroom. While choosing the place for the bedroom we must go for the South West direction of the plot. This is the most restful and powerful area for the bedroom. The main head of the family or money earner should occupy this place as bedroom. It’s called master bedroom.
Newly married couple should not be given the Southwestern bedroom, if they are in a big joint family. It gives domination effects to the newly bride and in turn gives rise to the frictions in relations.
See that there should be a solid wall behind the bed; avoid the openings of big window behind your bed.
Do not display pictures of war, cruelty, sadness, and wild animals, also take care – do not display any single bird or any animal in a couple bedroom.
Couples should take care that they use only single bed, single mattress, and single bed sheets for themselves. Please avoid double mattress.
Do not use water, water bodies like aquarium or water fountain etc. Water is an unstable element and hence has no place in the bedrooms. This will cause instability in your life.
There should not be any beam crossing over the bed. If it exists, proper rectification should be done immediately otherwise it may become a cause of your health problem and tensions, unnecessary stress in your life do not sleep under a beam.
The bed placed should be on the South/West walls and if not there, it should be kept at least 4” away from the walls.
The master bedroom should not be located in north east; this is not good for owner’s health or finances.
The inmates should not take meals in the bedroom otherwise they will suffer bad health, especially while they sit on the bed while eating.
If you have an attached bathroom, make sure it does not directly face your bed and the door is closed at all times.
Bedroom Colors like pink, light green, light blue and very light violet are good. Pure white color is good for peace.
